Helping young people prepare for their career is a sound investment in their future. Since 2010, 3000 new apprentices have started in our area, providing young people with hands-on experience and career specific skills.
Helping people start out in work is hugely important and I’m delighted with our local success. Local apprenticeship provider 3aaa has been rated “outstanding” by Ofsted and I recently invited the Government’s Apprenticeships Minister to see their work. Offering training in a variety of sectors, including accountancy and IT, 3aaa is doing a fantastic job inspiring young people to take control of their career.
In Westminster, I have campaigned for further incentives to encourage more businesses to take on apprentices. I am delighted that employer contributions for apprentices under 25 years old have been abolished.
“Richard Harrington has been an asset to us at 3aaa, from creating new contacts to getting actively involved with our apprentices.”
