This year, Richard Harrington MP has set up a Work Experience Programme to take place throughout the year. The main aim of the programme is to give young people the chance to be involved in and better understand what politics is really like at a local level. The programme is a great opportunity to develop key skills such as communication and to experience a different type of working environment. It is also a brilliant chance to engage with new people and build your self-confidence. Through the programme, young people will benefit from gaining a valuable experience of local and national politics.
This will be a rolling programme from now up until summer starting with an induction day on Saturday 3rd March for participants to learn more. After, there will be regular meetings held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30pm – 7:30pm, as well as weekly action days taking place on Saturday afternoons.
We are aware of exams and other commitments people may have all through the year which is why there is no fulltime commitment required. Instead participants are welcome to come along to events and meetings that best suit them. Watford Work Experience Programme is designed to be a “tailor made” experience to suit the individual interests of each participant.
